She shared a photo of a bee theme cake she designed for a bridal shower and I was lucky enough to have my Bride To Bee cake topper top her cake! Boys are a Hoot!

I want to share a sweet little hoot banner with you today! It was created using hues of butter yellow and a combination of soft polka dots and gingham cardstock. I love this little hoot and I had so much fun making this banner. At first I didn't know if I should do a birthday theme for the owl but I realized it would be lovely for a baby shower. Take a look at the new "It's a Boy" owl banner :)

Giddy Up pony - Real Party

I'm super thrilled to share this customer party with you today! For this special little cowgirl I created a doily vintage style name banner along with personalized centerpieces and cupcake toppers. The proud parents did an amazing job setting up all of the decorations and creating such a beautiful party for their little girl! So many adorable details like the aqua and cream pom pom garlands to adorn their entrance, a wanted photo prop station and even a pony on a stick corral. Too cute!!!

A winter Day in LA

I'm usually not the one to complain about how cold its here in LA...well because its really never this cold! Today its raining and it actually feels like we're having a Winter season. Over the holidays it was rrreeeaally cold and one crazy morning on our way to get coffee it was actually 31.7 degrees! To my East coast friends that's obviously nothing but I have to say I really enjoyed it. It was so nice to take out my heavy coat and use my scarf and go out in the cold.

Also over the holidays I had the sweet pleasure of working with Megan owner of Eat Sweets Pastry shop over in Westwood village. Some of you remember my last post on the amazing cookies she baked for my moms birthday. She needed some help in decorating her window for a Westwood village window decorating contest and I was so thrilled to be part of it. Her shop won 3rd prize!!

I was so amazed because I've never done anything like this before. It was so cool to drive by her store some days on my way home :) I made lots of huge 3D snowflakes and hung them from her tall ceilings along with a Happy Sweet Holidays snowflake banner. She brought in a tree which she decorated with strands of marshmallows that gave the store a sweet delicious aroma. I really hope it brought her lots of foot traffic and smiles to those who visited her shop! We're so excited to work together and I'm looking forward to decorating for Valentine's day :)

If you live in LA you must take a trip to Westwood Village and try Megan's shortbread cookies, nutella chocolate sandwiches, and petit tarts!! Also she makes amazing biscotti :) along with many other delicious treats.

What's in store for 2013?

So its here - the inevitable new year and everything that comes with it...I don't usually make resolutions or lists of things to do because they seem exhausting and at times can be overwhelming. Every year has its ups and downs and every January I do ponder on how this year will be and how George and I can have a more realistic approach to the new year. I think its important to strive for a balanced way of living. A balance of work and play, of study and lazy, of fear and adventure, of spontaneity and brainstorming and everything that makes up our day to day. I look forward to great moments spent by George's side, laughing and just being us. I learned a lot in 2012 - things to do and lots of what 'not' to do but overall I'm blessed and happy to be where I'm at. I'm hopeful I will have lots of things to share with you this year and that 2013 will be filled with lots of fun festivities and great inspiration.

On the sharing note did you know that I'm on Pinterest?! Yup, you can follow me here to see all my latest creations and fun finds that go along with them. I share not only party ideas, but also some of my home design ideas, and favorite places. Here are some of my latest pins…

Mom's Birthday

My mom has a sweet obsession with hens and roosters AND polka dots! I can't believe I've never thought to make that her birthday theme this year. The day started with an amazing Jazz brunch over at Nolas in downtown where Sharon Cline was performing her sultry love songs and Diana Krall covers. Some of you that went to our wedding will recognize her name as she performed at our ceremony and reception. Brought back a lot of wonderful memories and it just made my moms birthday a lot more special.

The afternoon ended with coffee and treats at home where I dolled up the table for mom. I used the polka dot hen theme together with black, yellow and red for a pop of color. I designed a cute cake topper for the cake as centerpiece and mini hay adorned with ribbon and cookies. As favors the most adorable and delicious polka dot hen cookies by Eat Sweets Pastry were placed on each plate. My mom absolutely loved the cookies and were her favorite part of the table. It was a wonderful day and I'm so blessed we could celebrate together.

It's a Library Mustache Bash!

I'm loving this new line of goodies for a super fun and awesome baby shower! I've managed to have some time off despite the hectic summer to work on a few new items such as a little man banner, mustache cupcake toppers, centerpiece that can be used as a photo prop too and a sweet little man diaper cake among a simple inspiration of books and libraries! As many of you know Jorge and I are always surrounded by books and what better inspiration than a book theme mustache bash! I love the idea of combining a sort of new hipster look to a vintage environment such as a library for the perfect handsome and smart little man to come! This theme goes to all the young librarians and moms to be! I think the shoot was a success and again many thanks to Ayumi for being the woman behind the magical photos! Check out the eye candy!
